The fairies are ready for Halloween

The fairies are ready for Halloween

Witches and broomsticks, bug eating bats, and spooky black cats! It can only mean one thing…Halloween is coming!

We don’t usually think of fairies as Halloween creatures, but 31st October is when Samhain, the Celtic festival of the summer's end was celebrated. The Celts believed fairies and spirits came out of hiding and walked amongst them.

On Samhain Eve, the fairies could be found dancing with ghosts, playing pranks, and causing mischief. But watch out - if you upset them, they may have brought nasty weather, spoiled your crops, or kidnapped you to Fairyland - although, that is a treat as the tricks and pranks they play there are the most fun of all!

Get in the festive spirit and add some spooky touches to your fairy door with our new Halloween accessories.

Because Climate Change Isn't Make Believe

Because Climate Change Isn't Make Believe

There’s only one thing we’re more passionate about than fairy doors… the planet! This is why we’re making an effort to use sustainable practices in every part of our business. We’ve teamed up with CarbonClick, a New Zealand company making it easy for people and businesses to help fight climate change.

CarbonClick looks like a green button at checkout. When you click it, a small contribution is added to your basket which purchases carbon offsets. These offsets reduce the environmental impact of the carbon emissions related to the purchase. CarbonClick’s offsets fund forest restoration, tree planting, and renewable energy projects around the world. We’re proud to be part of the fight against climate change.

We hope you’ll join us in creating a sustainable future by choosing to CarbonClick with your purchase because whilst fairies may be make believe, climate change is very real.

  5. If you're worried about waking your littlie up when the "tooth fairy" visits, place your fairy door in the hallway instead of bedside - this works particularly well when siblings in separate rooms are sharing one fairy door too.

Early on Easter morning, they deliver their Easter eggs to all the children in Easter Land and are the most popular parents around...you will be too if you treat your little ones to this adorable pair! They love nothing more than reading stories and chatting with the rest of the Ester family, well they do love the odd cup of tea and Easter chocolate too...Mrs Bunny has to keep a close on on Mr Bunny as he's known to sneak a few too many!

  1. Salt dough is super simple to make! Mould the dough into the shape of eggs before popping in the oven to dry. Bake at 150 degree Celsius according to size. Don't forget to make some mini eggs for fairies too!
  2. Once dry, it is decorating time! Paint them in bright patterns, add some glitter, and finish with a silk ribbon.
  3. Here’s the important bit...place your mini eggs next to your fairy door to thank the fairies and Easter bunnies for working hard to make Easter such a treat!

Tis the Season the Fairies and Elves Have Been Waiting For

Tis the Season the Fairies and Elves Have Been Waiting For

Fairy wings are glistening. Elf bells are jingle-jangling. Reindeer hoofs are pitter pattering. It is officially the merriest season of all, so get your elastic waistbands at the ready in prep for a month of festivities and food glorious food.

And as every little girl or boy will tell you, fairies and elves are experts in putting on a good spread (they don’t call it fairy bread for no reason!) So assemble the little ones, turn up the Christmas compilation, and get ready to whip up some joy-filled delights in the kitchen:

  • Fairies love smoothies. Fact. To make a special fairy smoothie, simply blend your normal green or red smoothie (and here’s the magical bit) pour a miniature serving into a tiny little cup…our porcelain tea set is just the right size for the wee folk!
  • Add a dash of jolliness to your cookies by substituting regular choc chips with green and red M&Ms. The downside? What to do with the other colour M&Ms…
  • Our fairy footprints stencils add an instant dose of magic to morning tea. Dust cupcakes with icing sugar footprints and sprinkle chocolate powder footprints on the little one’s morning fluffy. Too easy.

When the eggs have all been beaten, the flour has been sufficiently dusted, and spoons have been licked; it's time for fairyland's imaginary tea parties to begin...and you count on us to have fanciful treats, cakes, pastries and dainty little drinks that are imperative for all fairy festivities!
